Spear-bellied Sneetch smiles

Sitting around waiting for all hell to break loose. Weather.com has been teasing us for nearly a week about ginormous storms like it's the Final Four. Heat vs. Humidity in one bracket. Wind vs. Pollen in the other.

Not many photos from my short walk at Oak Point Monday due to the high winds. The prickly pear cactus in the parking lot was blooming but seemed stressed by either hail damage or insect pests.

My dad would have turned 93 yesterday. He would have smiled at the belly button on this prickly pear  and said, "Cheese."  It takes a long time to get back past the scars, decay, and spikes to the green, soft, astute, funny father.
