Mudville joy

The goal was monarch migration photos on my afternoon jaunt to Oak Point. I'd been reading and doing laundry, and every time I glanced out the window I saw two or three monarchs gliding by above the trees and roofs.

By the time I got to Oak Point by way of the recycling drop-off and the post office it was turning cloudy again.


No getting close enough to the monarchs feeding on the goldenrod at the lake's edge. At least without losing my new shoes in the mud.



So here is the short version of a quick walk around the lake:


So many moths everywhere, but mainly on this type of grass.



An unperturbed spiny softshell turtle near the dam.


Mud.

More rain.
